Originally from West Bengal, India, She completed her Ph.D in Computer Science and Engineering from Thapar University in the year 2013. Her research area focuses on the Machine Learning, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, and Data Mining.
Her research area includes identification of coding sequence from genomic DNA sequence. In the prediction of splice site, which is the separation between exons and introns, though the sequences adjacent to the splice sites have a high conservation, but still, the accuracy is lower than 90%. Therefore, both approaches – Conventional as well as Computational Intelligences (CI) have been pursued to predict the splice site in DNA sequence of the Eukaryotic organism and, both have been evaluated and compared in terms of their performance. We use computational techniques and statistical technique to work on diseased data for disease and psychological disorder prediction. She has 14 years of teaching and 2 years of industrial experience, published some papers in SCI journal and reputed conferences also authored book chapter. She is reviewer of SCI indexed journal (Current Bioinformatics).Currently she is guiding 1 research scholars in the area of Machine Learning.
