M.Sc. and PhD from IIT Kanpur, Postdoc (5 years) from IIT Bombay
Assistant Professor
Soft Matter Physics, Interfacial Transport
Soft Metter Physics and Interfacial Multiphase Flows with special attention to wetting, droplet, thin-films, and colloidal deposits. 2) Surface Engineering and characterization
Sanghamitro Chatterjee joined the Department of Physics as an Assistant Professor in March 2024. He received both the M.Sc. and PhD degrees from IIT Kanpur. Thereafter, he served IIT Bombay as a postdoctoral fellow. His research interests include Soft Condensed Matter Physics and Multiphase Interfacial Transport Phenomena with special attention to droplets, wetting, thin-films, colloidal deposits and Surface Engineering. He has a demonstrated track record of high-quality research that disseminated valuable scientific knowledge through publications in esteemed journal such as Langmuir, Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Research, Physics of Fluids, and Applied Surface Science. A number of research articles were identified as newsworthy by the journal editors and were selected for publishers’ press releases. The press releases were subsequently covered by several national and international news outlets and public policy makers, namely, the Press Trust of India (PTI), ScienceX, TechBriefs Media Group, New York, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), USA, and US Environmental Protection Agency. Besides, he is serving as reviewers of several prestigious journals and is a recipient of several award as a potential reviewer for providing critical and scientifically sound reviews. Dr. Chatterjee owns a patent and has authored two book chapters published by international publishing houses.
