Pervinder Singh joined the Department of Mathematics as an Assistant Professor in August 2024. Pervinder received his PhD in Mathematics from DIT University, Dehradun, India, and an M.Sc in Mathematics and B.Sc in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from HNB Garhwal Central University. He has cleared Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility and Junior Research Fellow Test (CSIR-NET/JRF) with All India Rank-166. This is one of the most prestigious exam in India conducted by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to identify the young research talent in India to provide them funding to pursue their research carrier. He also qualified the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE -2020) conducted by IIT Delhi with AIR 311. This is also a primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of undergraduate subjects in engineering and sciences for admission to postgraduate programs. He also won best paper presentation award in 5th National Conference on Recent Advancement in Physical Sciences, NIT Uttarakhand. Dr. Pervinder’s research area is Fluid Dynamics. During his research work, he has analyzed the problems related to the stability and heat and mass transports of natural convection occurring in Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids. He is capable of numerical modeling of natural convection related problems and their analytical and numerical analysis. Presently he is working on problems like squeeze flow, bifurcation analysis.
