    Dr. Gopal Kumar is a progressive academician in the field of technical education, with over a decade of experience. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Petroleum and Energy Studies within the School of Engineering and Technology at DIT University in Dehradun, India. Dr. Kumar holds a Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering from DIT University. He holds an M. Tech degree in Petroleum Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, India. Prior to joining DIT University, Dr. Kumar served as an Assistant Professor at the University College of Engineering, Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) in Kota, Rajasthan, India. Throughout his academic career, he has developed a keen interest in teaching subjects such as Drilling, Reservoir, Drilling Fluids, Petroleum Engineering Design, and Energy Storage.

    His current research focuses on developing novel materials from waste for various engineering applications. Dr. Kumar has published numerous research articles in reputable journals and has presented his work at various national and international conferences. For his extraordinary contributions to furthering knowledge via both his research and his dedication to educating and mentoring students, Dr. Kumar has received awards, including Excellence in Research and Best Paper award. Dr. Kumar is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). In addition to his membership, he served as the Faculty Advisor of the DIT SPE Student Chapter since 2017. The chapter, under his guidance, recently received the prestigious Presidential Award for Outstanding Student Chapter 2023 from SPE. Recognizing his expertise and dedication to innovation, Dr. Kumar has been appointed as a certified Innovation Ambassador by the Ministry of Education. Furthermore, he holds a patent for his invention titled "Amine grafted agricultural waste-based aerogel with in-situ hydrophobic characteristic for CO2 capture". Dr. Gopal Kumar is a respected academician who is influencing the direction of technical education in petroleum engineering through his broad knowledge, contributions to research, teaching talent, and dedication to student development.
