Dr. Debopam Acharya is Professor, Dean of School of Computing at DIT University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. He earned his PhD in Computer Sciences from University of Missouri-Kansas City, USA in 2006, M.Tech in Computer Science and Technology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India in 2003 and B.E. (Hons.) in Computer Science and Engineering from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra, India in 2000.
His research interests are in various areas of Internet of Things, Mobile Sensing and Smart Environment. Dr. Acharya’s work has been published in leading international conferences and journals and funded by several national and international organizations like the Ministry of Electronics and IT- Govt. of India, Dell India, BlackBerry, etc.
Prior to joining DIT University, Dr. Acharya has worked at various organizations in the United States and India. He has worked in the Location based Services group in Garmin International, Olathe, Kansas, USA, Tenure Track faculty in the department of Computer Sciences in Georgia Southern University, Georgia, USA and as Founding Head of Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Shiv Nadar University, India where he chaired the department till 2018.
