Atanu Bhatta joined the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science as an Assistant Professor in January 2024. Atanu completed MSc from IIT Bombay and obtained his PhD from IMSc, Chennai (HBNI). He was a postdoctoral fellow at IISc, Bengaluru (September 2018 -- June 2020) and University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (May 2021 -- September 2023). Before joining in the DIT University Atanu was a part-time faculty in NIT Raipur. His primary area of research is string theory. Especially using holographic techniques of gauge/gravity duality he is interested to study various aspects of scale invariant theories, black hole physics, hydrodynamics, and the theory of thermalization. Atanu is also interested in the applications of machine learning in string theory and mathematics.
